Pluto

The Transformer

Pluto represents deep transformation, power, rebirth and what lies hidden. It describes change that goes to the root and leaves nothing as it was.

Unlike Uranus's sudden shocks, Pluto's change is slow and thorough.

It is associated with endings that make room for renewal.

A Generational Planet

Pluto takes about 248 years to orbit the Sun, and its elongated orbit means it spends anywhere from twelve to over thirty years in a sign.

Its sign describes the deep themes a generation confronts.

Its personal influence comes through house placement and contacts with personal planets.

Pluto in Your Chart

Pluto's house shows where you may experience intense transformation or power dynamics. Pluto in the second house may relate to deep lessons about resources; in the eighth, to intimacy and shared resources.

Close contacts with your Sun, Moon or ascendant can make Pluto's themes very personal.

The Natal Blueprint shows your Pluto placement.

Pluto's Status

Astronomers reclassified Pluto as a dwarf planet in 2006. Astrologers continue to use it because its symbolic meaning has developed over decades of observation.

Its astronomical category does not change its role in a chart.

Many astrologers find it one of the most significant points for understanding deep change.
