Fact-Checking Process

Two kinds of claim
An astrology website makes two very different kinds of statement, and zodiacsfate.com checks them in different ways.
Verifiable claims include planetary positions, moon phases, the timing and length of retrogrades, the dates the Sun enters each sign, numerology arithmetic and historical facts about astrology. These have correct answers, and we verify them.
Interpretive claims describe what a placement means. These come from tradition and cannot be proven true or false. Our job here is to report the tradition faithfully and label it clearly.
Checking verifiable claims
Astronomical statements are checked against standard references and published ephemerides. Our calculators implement established algorithms — including an abridged version of the ELP-2000/82 lunar theory and standard solar and planetary methods — and are tested against known positions rather than assumed correct.
We pay special attention to sign boundary dates, which shift by up to a day from year to year. That is why our tools calculate the Sun’s real position instead of relying on a fixed table.
Checking interpretive claims
We trace traditional meanings to the astrological literature, note where traditions disagree, and correct popular myths that have no basis in the tradition itself.
Before and after publishing
Every piece is reviewed against this process before it goes live and rechecked whenever readers raise a question or the underlying information changes. Errors are corrected openly under our Corrections Policy.
